MerryGrip reacher

MerryGrip is a reacher manufactured from aluminium and plastic, resulting in a low weight. Suitable for everyday tasks, for everything from gardening work to helping hand in the kitchen. It is available in various lengths for different purposes and has rubber grips on the claws for increased friction. MerryGrip also has a strong magnet located at one end of the handle in order to pick up keys or other light metal objects. There is a suspension loop on the handle, and rubber on the underside of the mobile part of the handle makes it possible to hang the reacher from a flat surface.

User Instructions

The MerryGrip reacher is an aid for people who have problems gripping or reaching objects. The Aktiv model is for people who can press the handle and hold it depressed during the operation. By pressing together the handle and the tube, the claws at the end of the reacher are pressed together to grip the object. The grip rubber on the clause makes it easy to grasp and move objects. When the operation has been completed, the user releases the handle to release the object. When the reacher is no longer required, it can be suspended by the loop on the handle from a hook or over the edge of a chair or on a rollator or wheelchair for easy transport. Under the handle there is also a rubber clad surface which means that it can be suspended from the edge of a table. The back of the reacher is equipped with a strong magnet to help lift metal objects such as keys and clips from the floor.

- MerryGrip is intended and should only be used as an aid to move, reach or grip light objects and other use areas are not recommended.

- MerryGrip is suitable for light or simple gardening such as picking up weeds, leaves or as a planting aid.

- MerryGrip facilitates work in narrow areas where it is difficult to obtain access with other tools or the hands in terms of space or depth.

- MerryGrip is an invaluable aid when picking up newspapers, paper or envelopes which have fallen on the floor.

- MerryGrip functions as an extended arm in the kitchen, for example to reach ingredients or other objects.

Safety recommendations:

- The product should be used for the intended purpose.

- The product should not be used to break open objects or to screw or unscrew things.

- The product is not intended  for moving heavy objects where there is a risk of injuring the user if the object falls from the claws.

- The product should not be used to move hot or dangerous liquids as there is a risk that the user will be injured if they fall from the claws.

- The product must be regularly checked and any defective products should be discarded.

- Regular inspection of the grip rubber. A damaged or missing grip rubber affects the performance of the product and can result in it not working or in objects slipping out of the claws.
